Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Early Box Office Tracking Numbers Predict Strong Opening Weekend

The early box office projections for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’s opening weekend are looking strong.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice opens in United States theaters this coming September. The movie will see Michael Keaton reprise the iconic role he first played in the 1988 Tim Burton movie, while Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara are also returning as Lydia and Delia Deetz.

How much is Beetlejuice Beetlejuice expected to make during its opening weekend?

Per Deadline, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is currently tracking to make around $65-$75 million during its opening weekend.

The original Beetlejuice, in comparison, made around $8 million during its opening weekend and then went on to gross around $74 million in North America. With a budget of only $15 million, it became the tenth highest-grossing movie of 1988.

“Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River,” the synopsis for the movie reads. “Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened.  With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.”

Along with Keaton, Ryder, and O’Hara, the movie stars Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe, Burn Gorman, Arthur Conti, and more.

Burton returns to direct Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, while the screenplay was written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, based on a story by Gough, Millar, and Seth Grahame-Smith. Marc Toberoff, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tommy Harper, and Burton serve as producers, while Sara Desmond, Katterli Frauenfelder, Gough, Millar, Brad Pitt, Larry Wilson, Laurence Senelick, Pete Chiappetta, Andrew Lary, Anthony Tittanegro, Grahame-Smith, and David Katzenberg are executive producing.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be released in United States theaters and IMAX on September 6, 2024, from Warner Bros. Pictures.
