ComingSoon is exclusively debuting a clip from Trust in Love, a new drama movie directed by Mick Davis. The clip sees Roberts’ character explain why “a good, long draw of tobacco” does more for the mind than other drugs can. This then kickstarts a conversation about love and self-reflection.

What is Trust in Love about?
“Diving deep into the heart of resilience and love, Trust in Love —based on a true story—is a film that promises to move and inspire viewers,” the synopsis reads. “Mickey Ferrara (Jimi Petulla) teeters at life’s crossroads: his record-producing career is going down the tubes, his estranged wife wants a divorce, and his son is struggling with his sexuality. His only wingman is his beach bum brother Bobby (Tim Hazelip). Although plunged into adversity, Mickey is above all else a warrior and he’s poised to make a valiant stand, get in the trenches, and ‘trust in love’ to try to keep his family together and maybe—just maybe—make one more good record.”
The film also stars Natasha Wilson, Logan Arditty, Sydney Bullock, Miljenko Matijevic, and Robby Krieger.
Davis — who previously made 1999’s The Match, 2014’s Haunting Charles Manson, 20123’s Walden, and more — serves as a producer on the movie. Petulla wrote the script and also serves as a producer and executive producer, while Inna Petulla, Matt Feige, Jon Sheinberg, and Susan Sheinberg additionally serve as executive producers.
Trust in Love will begin its theatrical roadshow at the Lumiere Cinema at the Music Hall (9036 Wilshire Blvd) in Beverly Hills, California, at 4 p.m. on Monday, August 5. Tickets are available by clicking here.
The movie will then debut on VOD from Gravitas Ventures at a later date.
