Zac Efron has taken to social media to share an update on his health scare this past week, assuring fans that he’s doing just fine.
In a recent story post to his Instagram on Sunday, Efron shared a photo of himself working out on the deck of a house. In the caption, Efron said he was “happy and healthy” and thanked fans for all their well wishes. The post comes just a few days after Efron was hospitalized, but thankfully it seems all is well with the actor.
What happened to Zac Efron?
On Friday, Efron was taken to the hospital after what his representatives called a “minor swimming incident.” It’s unclear exactly what happened, but TMZ reported at the time that Efron was found inside the pool of a villa in Ibiza by two workers, who pulled him out of the water.
It’s unknown whether or not Efron was in distress, but the actor was subsequently taken to the hospital as a precaution, where he was promptly released a day later. Efron is currently in Europe to attend the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics, for which he attended the opening ceremony a couple of weeks ago.
Efron recently signed on to star in the upcoming thriller Famous from director Jody Hill. The role will be a reunion for Efron, with A24 handling the distribution rights to the movie as they did with 2023’s The Iron Claw, which starred Efron and received critical acclaim.
