Skibidi Toilet Movie, Television Series Being Developed by Michael Bay

A Skibidi Toilet film and television franchise is being developed by Michael Bay.

Skibidi Toilet originated as a short YouTube video that Alexey Gerasimov uploaded to his DaFuq!?Boom! channel. The 11-second video features a singing head emerging out of a toilet. It quickly became a meme and internet sensation, while additional videos (of which there are many) depicted battles between human-head toilets and humanoid characters.

Per Variety, Bay and former Paramount Pictures president Adam Goodman are now looking at developing Skibidi Toilet into a film and television franchise.

“We are absolutely in talks right now, both on the television side and the earliest conversations right now on the film side,” Goodman said. “But it’s not a be-all, end-all for us.”

Goodman, who runs an independent studio with Bay called Invisible Narratives, said that Gerasimov has built something that “could be the next Transformers or could be a Marvel universe” with Skibidi Toilet.

Adam Goodman compares a potential Skibidi Toilet project to John Wick and District 9

He also said that an animated/live-action hybrid version of Skibidi Toilet, be it a movie or series, could stylistically be similar to the John Wick films or 2009’s District 9.

Goodman continued, “I will say that Michael and Jeffrey Beecroft, who’s his longtime production designer and a colleague of his that’s worked with him on all of his movies, have been working very closely with Alexey to really professionalize the kind of back engine of this, to make sure, if we ever decide to go film or television, that this is kind of lifted beyond just the resources that creators have on the internet.”

Goodman didn’t reveal any studios or individuals that he and Bay have had discussions with about a Skibidi Toilet film and television franchise. He did note, “If we find a partner in this that really believes there’s opportunity for this to grow and to really see the storytelling grow and for this to be where we hope this can be, then film and TV seems like a natural extension for us.”
