The VOD debut of MaXXXine has been revealed as the digital release date is confirmed for the third part of Ti West’s slasher trilogy starring Mia Goth.
Having debuted in theaters earlier this month, MaXXXine will soon head home for a premium VOD release, according to When to Stream. However, A24 has yet to confirm this.
When is the MaXXXine digital release date?
If it holds true, which it should considering When to Stream’s general reliability, then the MaXXXine digital release date will be August 13, 2024. As with other premium VOD releases, it will cost $24.99 to buy and $19.99 to rent on services such as Prime Video, Apple TV Plus, and more.
It sounds fairly reasonable as VOD releases go. In the current moviegoing age, many theatrical releases get a premium digital release date in this timeframe.
MaXXXine is Ti West’s 10th feature film and caps a trilogy of slasher movies starring Mia Goth. Beginning with 2022’s X and Pearl, MaXXXine sees adult film star Maxine Minx now in 80s Hollywood trying to make it as a legitimate movie star. But the horrific events she survived at a Texas farmhouse years earlier have seemingly followed her. Now, people around her are being murdered, and Maxine’s career is under threat as a result.
MaXXXine stars Mia Goth, Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lilly Collins, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon.
Mia Goth has cemented her place as a modern Scream Queen with the X Trilogy. Her performances in two roles (Maxine Minx and Pearl) have been celebrated by genre heads. Her turn in Pearl is arguably the best of the lot. It features a mesmerizing monologue and a powerful final shot as Goth delves into the origin story of X’s elderly villain, Pearl.
