Amazon MGM Studios’ Jennifer Salke and Vernon Sanders have shared updates regarding Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2 and Red, White & Royal Blue 2.
On Monday, July 19, Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 1 with Donald Glover and Maya Erskine received 16 Primetime Emmy Award nominations. The 2023 Red, White & Royal Blue movie starring Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine, meanwhile, was nominated for Best TV Movie.

Speaking with Variety, Salke and Sanders provided an update on Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2. While they wouldn’t confirm whether or not Glover and Erskine will reprise their roles in the second season of the series, Sanders said, “The only thing we can share is that Donald and Maya laid out their vision for Season 2, and we’re incredibly excited about it. It’s wildly imaginative. It’s really unpredictable.”
Salke added, “I think it’ll bring audiences everything they want.”
A premiere date for Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2 has not yet been announced.
In May 2024, it was announced that a sequel to Red, White & Royal Blue was officially in the works.
When asked what was happening with the sequel movie, Salke said, “We’re really excited. We are into the second movie and can’t wait. The creative is awesome, and we’re so proud of the first film and getting the nomination. This morning, I was texting with [producers] Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter and Matt López, who are all just so proud. And we obviously love the movie, so we’re committed to the follow-up and can’t wait to get it out there in the world.”
A premiere date for Red, White & Royal Blue has also not yet been announced by Amazon Prime Video at this time. The first movie is currently available to watch on the streaming service.
