Hush Digital Release Date Sees Mike Flanagan Thriller Available To Buy for the First Time

Mike Flanagan and Shout! Studios have partnered to give the filmmaker’s horror thriller Hush a digital release date for the first time.

The 2016 film was previously available only on Netflix, but it will be available to purchase and rent digitally for the first time next month.

Hush digital release date

The Hush digital release date is set for August 27, 2024. You’ll be able to buy or rent the movie digitally on Apple TV, Amazon, Google Play, YouTube, Fandango At Home, Microsoft, and other digital platforms. This currently applies to the US and Canada only.

Hush is a horror thriller that centers on a deaf writer (played by Kate Siegel) who has retreated into the woods to live a solitary life. She must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears at her window.

In a statement on the news, Flanagan said, “Hush is one of the projects that is closest to my heart, and I cannot think of a better home than Shout! I’m so glad that people will finally be able to rent or purchase the film digitally. I’ve always loved how Shout! Studios champions and treasures their titles, and I also cannot wait for what’s to come… fans of Hush are going to have much to celebrate!”

That last comment suggests we’ll also get a physical release later, something Flanagan has wanted for his Netflix projects, such as The Haunting of Hill House.

Hush is written and directed by Mike Flanagan. Star Kate Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House) is also co-writer on the film. Trevor Macy and Jason Blum produced it. Starring alongside Siegel are John Gallagher Jr. (The Newsroom, 10 Cloverfield Lane), Samantha Sloyan (Midnight Mass, Grey’s Anatomy), and Michael Trucco (Battlestar Galactica, The Fall of the House of Usher).

Mike Flanagan is in post-production on the Stephen King adaptation The Life of Chuck. He is also set to direct a new movie in The Exorcist series for a 2026 release.
