Who’s in the cast of The Thursday Murder Club?
The upcoming feature will be led by iconic actors Helen Mirren (The Queen) as former spy Elizabeth, Pierce Brosnan (Mamma Mia!) as former union activist Ron, Celia Imrie (Bridget Jones) as former nurse Joyce, and Ben Kingsley (Sexy Beast) as former psychiatrist Ibrahim.
While the project has already started production on June 27, the newly released photo marks the first time the mentioned stars are seen dressed in character. “A group of friends in a retirement home who gather to solve murders for fun find themselves caught in a real case,” the logline reads.
In addition to the four leads, the rest of the cast includes Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes), Richard E. Grant (The Lesson), David Tennant (Doctor Who), Naomi Ackie (Lady Macbeth), Henry Lloyd-Hughes (Killing Eve), Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso), and Daniel Mays (Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget).
The upcoming film is written and directed by Chris Columbus. The filmmaker also serves as the film’s producer alongside Jennifer Todd. Executive producers are Holly Bario, Jeb Brody, Eleanor Columbus, and Jo Burn.
