Fuze Cast: Sam Worthington & Gugu Mbatha-Raw Join Bomb Thriller Movie

Sam Worthington (Avatar: The Way of Water) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Loki) have officially been tapped to the join the Fuze cast for the upcoming bomb thriller movie. Further details about their respective characters remained under wraps. Production is currently underway in London.

Worthington is best known for his role as Jake Sulley in James Cameron’s blockbuster Avatar franchise. He will be reprising the character in upcoming Avatar sequels. He’s also currently attached to star opposite Lily James and Riz Ahmed in the thriller movie Relay. As for Mbatha-Raw, she most recently starred in the heist thriller Lift with Kevin Hart. She will be starring alongside Edgar Ramirez in the upcoming thriller movie Nobody’s Heart.

Who will lead the Fuze cast?

Worthington and Mbatha-Raw will be joining previously announced cast members Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kraven: The Hunter) and Theo James (The Gentlemen), whose characters also remained undisclosed. However, Taylor-Johnson is expected to play the film’s lead character. Besides Worthington and Mbatha-Raw, Elham Ehsas (Homeland) and Honor Swinton-Byrne (The Souvenir) have also joined the project.

Fuze will be directed by David Mackenzie from a screenplay written by Ben Hopkins. The story begins with “the discovery of an unexploded World War II bomb in a London construction site, sparking a mass evacuation – the perfect cover for a heist,” reads the synopsis. The film is produced by Gillian Berrie, Sebastien Raybaud, and Callum Grant, with Giles Nuttgens set as the cinematographer. It is a production by Anton.

This marks Taylor-Johnson’s second collaboration with Mackenzie, after previously working together in 2018’s historical drama Outlaw King. Before Fuze, the Kick-Ass star was most recently seen in David Leitch’s action comedy The Fall Guy. He’s currently attached to several high-profile projects, including Kraven the Hunter, Nosferatu, and 28 Years Later.
