Exclusive: Listen to Feinte & DJibouti’s Space Cadet Song ‘Space Girl’

ComingSoon is excited to debut the song “Space Girl” by Feinte and DJibouti. It will play over the end credits of Prime Video’s Space Cadet, which is out July 4 and stars Emma Roberts in the lead role. She plays a Florida girl with outer space ambitions that gets in over her head after landing a spot on NASA’s astronaut training program with an application that was altered by her friend.

The spacey three-and-a-half minute track was made while DJibouti & Feinte were working on their collaborative EP Run Riot. The musicians were particularly excited to score a track for an Emma Roberts-led movie due to their love of Dev Hynes’ score for Palo Alto, which also starred Roberts. Made with Ali Estrada, Jason Harris, and Graham Riley, the artists imagined Roberts in both a rocket ship and a frat party in space.

Check out the track “Space Girl” below:

What is Space Cadet about?

“In Space Cadet, Tiffany ‘Rex’ Simpson has always dreamed of going to space, but life isn’t going quite as planned,” reads the synopsis. “Determined to turn things around, she aims high, and with the embellishing touch of her supportive best friend Nadine, her ‘doctored’ application lands her in NASA’s ultra-competitive astronaut training program. In over her head, Rex relies on her quick wits, moxie, and determination to get to the top of her class. NASA program directors Pam and Logan certainly take notice, but can this Florida girl get through training and into the cosmos before she blows her cover?”

The film is written and directed by Liz W. Garcia. Joining Roberts are Tom Hopper, Poppy Liu and Gabrielle Union, Kuhoo Verma, Desi Lydic, Sebastián Yatra, Yasha Jackson, Andrew Call, Troy Iwata, Josephine Huang, Dave Foley, Sam Robards, and Joshua Harto.

You can add “Space Girl” on Spotify and listen to DJibouti & Feinte’s Run Riot on streaming.
