Mark Wahlberg & Paul Walter Hauser Go Balls Up in New Peter Farrelly Comedy Movie

Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser will star in Balls Up, an upcoming comedy from director Peter Farrelly which focuses two marketing executives who go on a wild ride.

What’s Balls Up about?

The film, which hails from Skydance, focuses on two American marketing executives. They are fired because they ruin a client sponsorship opportunity. From there, the duo decides that they might as well make use of their free tickets to a major soccer match. However, things take a turn once drunk antics take them down the road of being hunted by every person across the country.

The script will be written by Paul Wernick & Rhett Reese, who most recently worked on Deadpool & Wolverine. Producers on the project include Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Andrew Muscato. Wernick and Reese also produce.

Balls Up marks the fourth collaboration between Amazon MGM and Skydance. It also reunites Farrelly with Amazon after the streaming success of Ricky Stanicky, which Farrelly directed and which starred Zac Efron, John Cena, Jermaine Fowler, and Andrew Santino. It debuted on March 7 on Prime Video.

Walhberg recently starred in Arthur the King and the Apple TV+ movie The Family Plan, also from Skydance. Next, Wahlberg will next star in Netflix’s The Union with Halle Berry, which debuts on August 16. His upcoming slate also includes Mel Gibson’s thriller Flight Risk, and Shane Black’s crime thriller Play Dirty.

Hauser is among the voice cast in Inside Out 2. Hauser is also set for a Chris Farley biopic, in addition to roles in the upcoming Naked Gun reboot, and Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four. The actor also recently joined the Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me from Nowhere opposite Jeremy Allen White.
