Deadpool & Wolverine star Ryan Reynolds confirmed on his social media account that post-production on Marvel Studios’ first R-rated superhero movie has officially been completed. The blockbuster star shared the news along with a behind-the-scenes picture of him and director Shawn Levy, who can be seen supervising the editing process of the third Deadpool movie.
“And that’s all she wrote for post production. Feels like a million years of work went by in a blink. Sitting next to this guy [Levy] made it all so sweet…Hard to walk away,” Reynolds said in his Instagram story post.
When is the release date for Deadpool & Wolverine?
Deadpool & Wolverine is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters next month on Friday, July 26. This comes after over six years since Deadpool was last seen by fans on the big screen. The upcoming film will also serve as the X-Men franchise’s official introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Deadpool & Wolverine is directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay written by Reynolds, Levy Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells. The third installment features returning Marvel stars Reynolds as Wade Wilson/ Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Logan/ Wolverine, Jennifer Garner as Elektra, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Rob Delaney as Peter, Stefan Kapicic as Colossus, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio. They will be joined by MCU newcomers The Crown’s Emma Corrin and Succession’s Matthew Macfadyen have also joined the cast to play the roles of Cassandra Nova and TVA agent Paradox, respectively.
