Ryan Reynolds Praises Logan as Possibly ‘the Greatest Comic Book Adaptation’

Ahead of Deadpool & Wolverine‘s theatrical release on July 26, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has expressed his love for co-star Hugh Jackman’s acclaimed X-Men movie Logan, which was directed by James Mangold in 2017. Before making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut this year, Logan was originally slated as Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine.

What did Ryan Reynolds say about Logan?

During a recent interview, Reynolds gave a very high praise to Logan, while discussing the parallels between the first Deadpool movie and the said Wolverine-centered movie. At the moment, the 2017 film is still one of the best-reviewed superhero movies to date, as it currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“The movies were quite congruent with each other at that point,” Reynolds said (via Total Film). “Deadpool was different, and then right after Logan was potentially the greatest comic-book adaptation ever made.”

Deadpool & Wolverine is directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay written by Reynolds, Levy Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells. The third installment see Jackman and Jennifer Garner coming out of their superhero retirement to reprise their respective iconic Marvel roles as Wolverine and Elektra. The sequel will also feature the return of Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Rob Delaney as Peter, Stefan Kapicic as Colossus, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio. They will be joined by MCU newcomers The Crown’s Emma Corrin and Succession’s Matthew Macfadyen have also joined the cast to play the roles of Cassandra Nova and TVA agent Paradox, respectively.
