Taylor Swift’s Deadpool & Wolverine Absence Leaves Fans Divided

The long-running rumor suggesting that Taylor Swift will make a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine has reportedly been debunked. Fans who were looking forward to seeing her in the upcoming R-rated crossover event might be disappointed. Meanwhile, some believe it to be a marketing ploy, similar to Andrew Garfield denying his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Taylor Swift’s Dazzler rumor debunked for Deadpool & Wolverine

The rumors of Taylor Swift being a part of Deadpool & Wolverine picked up steam when she was spotted with Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Blake Lively, and director Shawn Levy at Kansas City Chiefs NFL games in late 2023.

Per the rumor, Swifties believed that Taylor Swift would play Dazzler in Deadpool & Wolverine. Other rumors also predicted her to be Lady Deadpool, who has been teased by the trailers.

However, Entertainment Weekly’s exclusive report suggests that the famed pop star will not appear in the movie at all. Nothing else was revealed besides that. This report comes after Shawn Levy played coy about her involvement in the film.

In the past, Andrew Garfield denied his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home, while Tatiana Maslany did the same for She-Hulk despite being a part of the project.

However, Swift’s scenario is different as she isn’t the one denying the rumors. The news of her absence comes from a famed news outlet putting its reputation at stake. So, it’s likely that the past rumors were untrue. Swift could have been hanging out with the Deadpool & Wolverine team simply due to her friendship with Reynolds and Lively.

Fans react to Taylor Swift not being in Deadpool & Wolverine

Many MCU fans and Swifties have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their wide range of reactions. While some fans are upset, others aren’t fully convinced. Here’s how the fans have reacted:

The previous two Deadpool movies began with music numbers. As a result, another running theory suggests that Taylor Swift might sing an original song for Deadpool & Wolverine. That’s how she could be attached to the film, without appearing in it. But nothing is confirmed at the moment.

Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters on July 26, 2024.
