The Idea of You’s Nicholas Galitzine has been cast as He-Man in the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Galitzine has officially been tapped to play He-Man in Masters of the Universe, which is being directed by Travis Knight.
“Masters centers on Price Adam of Eternia who, thanks to his Power Sword, turns into He-Man and is embued with superhuman strength and abilities, which he uses to defend his native planet and Castle Grayskull,” The Hollywood Reporter’s description reads.

Masters of the Universe was written by Chris Butler. Robbie Brenner is producing for Mattel Films, while Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch are producing for Escape Artists.
Along with playing Hayes in 2024’s The Idea of You, Galitzine has starred in movies such as 2016’s Handsome Devil, 2020’s The Craft: Legacy, 2021’s Cinderella, 2023’s Bottoms, and 2023’s Red, White & Royal Blue.
He additionally played George Villiers in the Mary & George miniseries that premiered on Starz in the United States this past April.
Knight, meanwhile, previously directed 2016’s Kubo and the Two Strings and 2018’s Bumblebee. He was also a producer and animator on 2012’s ParaNorman and 2014’s The Boxtrolls, while he additionally produced 2019’s Missing Link.
Along with Masters of the Universe, Knight is working on another animated adventure movie for Laika titled Wildwood, which is currently expected to be released in 2025. The voice cast of the movie includes Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Amandla Stenberg, Jemaine Clement, Tom Waits, and Richard E. Grant.
Masters of the Universe releases in United States theaters on June 5, 2026, from Amazon MGM.
