Searchlight Pictures has finally set the release date for its upcoming film adaptation of The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat, based on the 2013 New York Times best-selling novel by Edward Kelsey Moore.
The comedy-drama is scheduled to make its debut on August 23, 2024, exclusively on Hulu. The date announcement also came with the film’s first official poster, featuring Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black), Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor (Lovecraft Country), and Sanaa Lathan (Succession) as they play life-long best friends.
What to expect from The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat?
“The film follows a trio of best friends known as ‘The Supremes’ who, for decades, has weathered life’s storms together through marriage and children, happiness and blues,” reads the official synopsis. “Now, as heartbreak and illness stir up the past and threaten to destroy their friendship, Odette, Barbara Jean and Clarice see their bond put to the test as they go through their most challenging times yet.”
The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat is directed by Tina Mabry (Queen Sugar) from a screenplay she co-wrote with Cee Marcellus. The film also stars Mekhi Phifer, Julian McMahon, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Russell Hornsby, Tati Gabrielle, Tony Winters, Dijon Means, Xavier Mills, and more. It is produced by Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey and Isaac Klausner.
