The Lincoln Lawyer’s Manuel Garcia-Rulfo has been cast in the new Jurassic World movie.
Per Deadline, Garcia-Rulfo has been tapped to play a leading role in Universal’s new Jurassic World movie that is being directed by Gareth Edwards. Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey will also star in the film.
Garcia-Rulfo is best known for playing Mickey Haller in Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer series. He also played Gabriel Ortega in Amazon Prime Video’s Goliath and Narciso Menendez in From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series.
He’s additionally starred in movies such as 2016’s The Magnificent Seven, 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express, 2018’s Sicario: Day of the Soldado, 2018’s Widows, 2019’s 6 Underground, 2020’s Greyhound, and 2022’s A Man Called Otto, among others.
What do we know about the new Jurassic World movie?
Plot details for the new Jurassic World movie remain under wraps at this time. According to Deadline, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are not expected to reprise their respective roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing in the film.
Original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern are also not expected to return.
The new Jurassic World movie is written by David Koepp. Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, and Patrick Crowley are executive producing the film.
Universal announced a new Jurassic World movie was coming in February 2024. The Fall Guy’s David Leitch was originally going to direct the film; however, he departed the project shortly after it was announced and was replaced by Edwards.
Edwards previously made 2010’s Monsters, 2014’s Godzilla, 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and, most recently, 2023’s The Creator.
Univeral’s new Jurassic World movie, which does not yet have an official title, releases in United States theaters on July 2, 2025.
