Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have revealed a Monsterverse 4K UHD Collector’s Edition, containing all 5 films in the Godzilla and Kong franchise.
MonsterVerse 4K UHD Collector’s Edition Details
With the 10th anniversary of the Monsterverse debuting with Gareth Edwards’ 2014 Godzilla movie, it’s a fitting time to collect the blockbuster monster movie sage in one hefty 4K set.
The Monsterverse is one of the more successful attempts to create a cinematic universe in recent years, even if it’s a universe where the typical example of the storytelling is a giant lizard suplexing a giant monkey (complimentary). After Godzilla 2014, the Monsterverse and this collection include Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla vs. Kong, and this year’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
There’s a kaiju-sized set of features in the set, including a Directors of the Monsterverse featurette that sees Gareth Edwards, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, Michael Dougherty, and Adam Wingard discuss their time making their entries into the Monsterverse.
There’s currently no release date set for the Monsterverse 4K UHD Collector’s Edition, but it will likely be soon after next week’s digital home release of Godzilla x Kong on May 14, 2024, and possibly in line with the June 11, 2024, physical release of that film.
