Kerry Condon, William H. Macy, and Clifton Collins Jr. have joined the cast of Train Dreams.
Black Bear has announced that Condon, Macy, and Collins Jr. will join Joel Edgerton and Felicity Jones in Train Dreams, a new drama movie currently filming in Washington.
Train Dreams is directed by Clint Bentley, who previously made 2021’s Jockey starring Collins Jr.
What is Train Dreams about?
“Train Dreams is the sweeping and poignant tale of Robert Grainier (Edgerton), a day laborer employed as a logger helping to expand the railways across America. Forced to spend prolonged periods of time away from his wife, Gladys (Jones), and their young daughter, Grainier struggles to make sense of his place in a rapidly changing world,” the synopsis reads. “As his story unfolds, he experiences great love, unspeakable loss, and unique bonds on a journey that is both distinct and universal.”
Based on Denis Johnson’s 2011 novel of the same name, Train Dreams is written by Bentley and Greg Kwedar. Damien Ober worked on a previous draft of the script.
Train Dreams is produced by Marissa McMahon and Ashley Schlaifer for Kamala Films, Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler for Black Bear, and Will Janowitz. Edgerton, Kwedar, Scott Hinckley, and Black Bear’s John Friedberg serve as executive producers.
Condon was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in 2022’s The Banshees of Inisherin. She also voices F.R.I.D.A.Y. in the MCU and recently starred in Blumhouse’s Night Swim.
Macy, meanwhile, will soon be seen in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. He’s also known for starring in movies such as 1996’s Fargo, 1997’s Boogie Nights, and 1999’s Magnolia, while he played Frank Gallagher in Showtime’s Shameless.
Collins Jr. has appeared in movies such as 2000’s Traffic, 2005’s Capote, 2009’s Star Trek, 2013’s Pacific Rim, 2019’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, 2021’s Nightmare Alley, 2023’s Red, White & Royal Blue, and more.
Train Dreams does not yet have an official release date from Black Bear.
