Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is set to release in just over a month, and now fans know how long the movie will be.
According to a recent tweet from Twitter insider “Cryptic4KQual,” the final runtime for Furiosa is set at 2 hours and 28 minutes. This would make the upcoming prequel film the longest in the Mad Max franchise, beating out Mad Max: Fury Road, which had a runtime of two hours.
The film is led by Anya Taylor-Joy, who plays the titular character in the film. Alongside her, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga also stars Christopher Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Alyla Browne, Quaden Bayles, Daniel Webber, and Lachy Hulme. Additionally, Mad Max: Fury Road stars Nathan Jones and Angus Sampson reprise their roles as Rictus Erectus and The Organic Mechanic, respectively.
What is Furiosa about?
“As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus,” reads the synopsis. “Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”
A prequel to 2015 Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Imperator Furiosa alongside Chris Hemsworth.
The movie is directed by George Miller, who made the original Mad Max trilogy — 1979’s Mad Max, 1981’s Mad Max 2, and 1985’s Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome — before then making 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road. Miller also co-wrote the script for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga with Nico Lathouris. He additionally produces the movie with Doug Mitchell.
