MCU fans could be in for a treat as the Avengers 5 release date is not expected to move. Despite Marvel delaying several Phase 5 projects to 2025 and beyond, Avengers 5 will reportedly stick to its current release date.
Since Avengers 5 dropped Kang out of the film’s title, rumors suggested that Marvel was looking to delay the movie. But that apparently isn’t the case.
Avengers 5’s release date is rumored for 2026
As per Daniel Richtman’s Patreon, Avengers 5 is said to be on track to hit theaters on May 1, 2026. The familiar scooper further reported that the movie is currently scheduled to begin production in the United Kingdom in 2025. Its new title hasn’t been officially revealed, but Richtman speculated it to be “Avengers: Secret Wars – Part One.”
The industry insider has had a great track record with his scoops. But since the aforementioned report doesn’t officially come from Marvel Studios, it should be taken with a grain of salt.
Avengers 5 was originally announced for May 2, 2025, but Marvel moved it to 2026. Furthermore, Avengers: Secret Wars was pushed to May 7, 2027. After Jonathan Majors’ firing, Marvel dropped “The Kang Dynasty” from Avengers 5’s title and delayed multiple Phase 5 projects due to 2023’s WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
This led fans to expect that Avengers 5 could be pushed again, with no director currently being attached to it. Additionally, it isn’t yet clear who the movie’s villain will be or what direction Marvel is taking with the story.
But if Richtman’s Avengers 5 release date scoop is to be believed, then things are seemingly back on track behind the scenes at Marvel Studios. Projects including Deadpool & Wolverine, Captain America: Brave New World, and Fantastic Four could directly lead into the currently untitled Avengers 5.
However, fans should expect a lot more official Avengers 5 information to arrive at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, which Marvel is expected to attend.
