Searchlight Pictures has finally announced the release date for its newest comedy-drama titled A Real Pain, which serves as Jesse Eisenberg’s second directorial project.
When is A Real Pain coming out?
Following its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, the film is now scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 18, 2024. Its theatrical release will see the film debuting in the same month as a few high-profile projects, including Smile 2, Joker: Folie à Deux, Venom: The Last Dance, and Wolf Man.
“Mismatched cousins David and Benji reunite for a tour through Poland to honor their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a turn when the odd couple’s old tensions resurface against the backdrop of their family history,” reads the synopsis.
A Real Pain is written and directed by Eisenberg, who’s also leading the cast alongside Emmy winner Kieran Culkin (Succession). Joining them are Will Sharpe (The White Lotus), Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing), Kurt Egyiawan (The Exorcist), Liza Sadovy (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street) and Daniel Oreskes (Law & Order). It is produced by Emma Stone, Dave McCary, Ali Herting, Jennifer Semler and Ewa Puszczyńska. This marks the latest collaboration between Eisenberg and Stone, who previously worked together in the Zombieland franchise.
