True Detective: Night Country’s Kali Reis has joined the cast of Amazon MGM’s Mercy.
Per Deadline, Reis will join Chris Pratt, Rebecca Ferguson, and Annabelle Wallis in Mercy, a new sci-fi thriller movie that is scheduled to be released in 2025.
Mercy is being directed by Timur Bekmambetov, who previously made 2008’s Wanted, 2012’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and 2016’s Ben-Hur remake. His new movie, according to Deadline, is “set in the near future when capital crime has increased” and follows “a detective (Pratt) [who] has been accused of a violent crime and [is] forced to prove his innocence.”

Marco van Belle wrote the screenplay for Mercy, while Charles Roven, Robert Amidon, Majd Nassif, and Bekmambetov’s BEL banner serve as producers.

In addition to acting, Reis is also a professional boxer and former world champion in two weight classes. She made her Hollywood debut in 2021’s Catch the Fair One, which was directed by Josef Kubota. In addition to staring in the film, Reis also received a story credit for Catch the Fair One.

Mercy is expected to begin filming in the spring of 2024. The film releases in United States theaters on August 15, 2025, from Amazon MGM.
