What do we know about The Accountant 2?
Ben Affleck is reprising his role as Christian Wolff in The Accountant 2. J.K. Simmons, Jon Bernthal, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson are also all reprising their roles from the 2016 movie, while Anna Kendrick is not returning for the sequel.
“When her former boss is killed by unknown assassins, Treasury Agent Marybeth Medina (Addai-Robinson) is forced to contact Christian Wolff (Affleck) to solve the murder,” the logline reads. “With the help of his estranged but highly lethal brother Brax (Bernthal), Chris applies his brilliant mind and less-than-legal methods to piece together the unsolved puzzle. As they get closer to the truth, the trio draw the attention of some of the most ruthless killers alive—all intent on putting a stop to their search.”
The Accountant 2 is being directed by Gavin O’Connor, who helmed the first movie and also worked with Affleck on 2020’s The Way Back. O’Connor has also directed 2004’s Miracle, 2011’s Warrior, and 2015’s Jane Got a Gun, among other titles. Bill Dubuque wrote the script.
Affleck and Matt Damon are producing The Accountant 2 — which was originally going to be released by Warner Bros. but moved to Amazon MGM Studios earlier this month — alongside Lynette Howell Taylor and Mark Williams. Dani Bernfeld, Kevin Halloran, Michael Joe, Alison Winter, Scott Lastaiti, and Jamie Patricof serve as executive producers.
The Accountant 2 does not yet have an official release date from Amazon MGM Studios. The Accountant, meanwhile, is currently streaming on Apple TV+.
