Iconic filmmaker Steven Spielberg has revealed if he will be directing Ready Player Two after helming the first movie back in 2018.
Speaking with Showbiz411 at the post-Oscars Universal Pictures gala, Spielberg was asked if he was going to direct the movie adaptation of Ernest Cline’s sequel novel Ready Player Two. The visionary director revealed that he won’t be helming the sequel, but will indeed be producing it. It was noted that Spielberg has nothing in production in 2024, to which he said, “We’re in the discovery phase, trying to figure out what’s next.”
The movie adaptation of Ready Player One was originally released on March 29, 2018 and was directed by Spielberg and written by Zak Penn and Ernest Cline. The film was a box office success and received positive critical reception upon release.
