Warner Bros. Discovery has changed the release date of the upcoming mob drama Alto Knights, from director Barry Levinson and starring Robert De Niro.
The new Alto Knights release date has been set for March 21, 2025, a move that delays the movie by about four months. The film was originally set to release on November 15, 2024.
Alongside De Niro, Alto Knights is also set to star Debra Messing and Kathrine Narducci. Nicholas Pileggi will write the film, which is set to be produced by Irwin Winkler and Jason Sosnoff.
What is Alto Knights about?
The film “follows two of New York’s most notorious organized crime bosses, Frank Costello and Vito Genovese, and how their separate paths to power place them on a deadly collision course,” according to its logline.
Alto Knights will also reunite the director and legendary actor following their 2008 HBO television movie The Wizard of Lies, which saw De Niro star in the film as Bernie Madoff. In a twist on things, however, De Niro will be featured twice in the movie and will play two of the main characters.
