With DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda 4 hitting theaters on March 8, the studio has also released the trailer for another animated film, titled The Wild Robot. Featuring the voice of Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o as Roz, the feature is scheduled for release on September 20.
As DreamWorks Animation marks another exciting year for animated fans out there, the trailer highlights a refreshing yet adventurous tale of a robot, stuck in the middle of nowhere. Left with no other option, the robot must learn to adapt to a new, unfamiliar environment filled with animals.
Based on Peter Brown’s bestselling novel of the same name, the official synopsis for The Wild Robot reads: “The epic adventure follows the journey of a robot—ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short — that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.”
