Kino Lorber is releasing a Fright 4K UHD & Blu-ray for Peter Collinson’s 1971 British horror movie starring Susan George.
Fright 4K UHD Release for Brit Thriller
The film is often cited as the genesis of The Babysitter in Peril formula that would become a staple in films such as When A Stranger Calls and Halloween.
Young babysitter Amanda arrives at the Lloyd residence to spend the evening looking after their young son. Soon after the Lloyds leave, a series of frightening occurrences in the gloomy old house have Amanda’s nerves on edge. The real terror begins, however, when the child’s biological father appears after recently escaping from a nearby mental institution.
The film stars Susan George (Straw Dogs), Honor Blackman (Goldfinger), Ian Bannen (Braveheart), John Gregson (The Lavender Hill Mob), George Cole (Cleopatra), Dennis Waterman (Scars of Dracula), and Roger Lloyd Pack (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy)
Director Peter Collinson is best known for helming the Italian Job, but he also directed Agatha Christie adaptation And Then There Were None and the serial killer thriller Straight On Till Morning.
