Scream Factory has revealed a Killer Klowns from Outer Space 4k UHD SteelBook release is on the way for the cult classic.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space 4K Release Revives a Cult Classic
Stephen Chiodo’s surreal 1988 sci-fi horror has grown in stature over the years, with its 80s spin of 50s B-Movie schlock seeing it gain a deserved cult status.
The story of Killer Klowns from Outer Space sees aliens arrive on Earth who look like twisted versions of clowns. They terrorize the residents of a small town, who must battle the alien menace in hopes of stopping a gaudy globabl invasion
Chiodo has long wanted to continue the story of the Killer Klowns, including a possible small screen outing.
“My goal is to do an eight-part miniseries for streamers. We’ve got a great concept that continues the story of our main characters,” said Chiodo in an interview. ”We’ll follow a new group of teenagers who come upon the clowns and meet a drunk living in his van – it’s Mike Tobacco. There’s a big invasion, and we end up on the clown planet.”
A multiplayer game adaptation from IllFonic and Teravision is set to be released on June 4, 2024, so between that and this 4K release of the film, it’s a good time to be a Killer Klowns fan.
