Troma’s latest slab of schlock horror comes in the form of a cannibalism comedy musical called Sweet Meats, and a trailer and poster for the movie has been revealed.
First shown exclusively on Fangoria, the Sweet Meats trailer showcases writer/director Ricky Glore’s twist on Exploitation cinema from Troma Entertainment and NKY Films.
The synopsis for Sweet Meats reads, “Bobby Sweet is a country music legend and has been the world-renowned face of ‘Sweet Meats’ since establishing his first restaurant with his wife in 1978. How did his restaurant take off so quickly, and what makes the meat so darn sweet? Sometimes a ‘secret ingredient’ should stay that way. They always say, ‘You’d be disgusted if you knew what you were really eating!’ They might be right…”
You can watch the trailer on Fangoria’s site and view the poster by Marc Schoenbach of Sadist Art Designs below. If you want a bit more of a flavor of the movie here, then the teaser trailer is also below.

Glore also stars in Sweet Meats alongside Eileen Earnest, Timmy Hart Barron, and Andrew Gordon.
“I love movies like the Monkees film Head, Brian De Palma’s Phantom of the Paradise, Roger Corman’s The Little Shop of Horrors, Motel Hell, and This Is Spinal Tap,” Glore said to Fangoria, “but I never in a million years thought I’d make a film of my own that felt like all of those things dropped in a blender.”
Troma is no stranger to gloopy movies about cannibalism or, indeed, messed-up restaurants. It was behind Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s Cannibal: The Musical and Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, after all.
