Award-winning directing duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert — known as the Daniels — have officially set their eyes on the follow-up to their massive hit Everything Everywhere All at Once.
According to a recent report from Variety, Universal Pictures — with whom the Daniels have signed an exclusive first-look deal with recently — has added a new film, simply titled “Untitled Event Film Directed by Daniels,” to its release calendar.
The calendar lists the movie with a release date of June 12, 2026. Currently, no information about the film whatsoever is available, so it’s unclear just what Daniels’ next film will be about.
Daniels’ previous film was a smash hit
The director duo is coming off of their biggest hit to date in 2022’s Everything Everywhere All at Once. The comedy-drama about a woman using the help of parallel universes to unite her family was a smash hit amongst critics and at the box office.
To date, the movie’s box office returns ($143.4 million) make it A24‘s highest-grossing movie ever.
Everything Everywhere All at Once also gained a fairly large cult following quickly, and would later go on to dominate at the 95th Academy Awards. In total, the film won seven of its 11 nominated categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), Best Original Screenplay, and Best Film Editing.
