During a recent interview with People, Twisters star Glen Powell confirmed that he and the rest of the cast of the upcoming disaster sequel to the iconic 1996 film Twister have already seen the movie.
Powell also expressed his excitement to “unleash” Twisters to audiences, promising a “badass” and “spectacular” theatrical experience. The film is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 19, 2024.
“All I can say is it’s badass,” he teased. “It’s really cool. The movie — I mean we have the best of the best in terms of actors and department heads on this thing. Lee Isaac Chung directed the hell out of it. Just saw it and it’s spectacular. I’m super excited to unleash it on audiences this summer.”
Who’s involved Twisters?
Twisters is directed by Minari filmmaker Lee Isaac Chung from a screenplay written by Mark L. Smith. The film also stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Anthony Ramos, Brandon Perea, Maura Tierney, Sasha Lane, Kiernan Shipka, Harry Hadden-Paton, Nik Dodani, Tunde Adebimpe, Katy O’Brian, and David Corenswet. “Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City,” reads the synopsis. “She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Ramos) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better. As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.”
