Bluestone Entertainment and Walden Media has welcomed Colin Hanks (Fargo) and Mark O’Brien (Ready or Not) to the Nuremberg cast for the upcoming historical drama, which hails from Zodiac filmmaker James Vanderbilt.
Hanks is set to play the role of a military psychiatrist named Dr. Gustav Gilbert, who has been assigned to evaluate the Nazis. As for O’Brien, he will be playing one of the trial’s chief interrogators, Colonel John Amen. Production is expected to begin on February 23 in Hungary.
What to expect in Nuremberg?
Base on Jack El-Hail’s book The Nazi and the Psychiarist, Nuremberg chronicles the eponymous trials held by the Allies against the defeated Nazi regime. The film adaptation is written and directed by Vanderbilt. It will be led by Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, Michael Shannon, Richard E. Grant, Leo Woodall, John Slattery, Lydia Peckham, Wrenn Schmidt, Lotte Verbeek, and Andreas Pietschmann.
The film is produced by Richard Saperstein, William Sherak, Brad Fischer, James Vanderbilt, Istvan Major, Paul Neinstein, Frank Smith, Benjamin Tappan, and Cher Hawrysh. Executive producers are Annie Saperstein, Brooke Saperstein, Beau Turpin, W. Porter Payne, Jr., Géza Deme, and Tamás Hajnal.
