Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell will star in Kogonada’s new movie, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.
Per Deadline, Robbie and Farrell have both signed on to star in A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, which is being directed by Kogonada. The script comes from The Menu’s Seth Reiss, while 30West is financing the film.
Plot details for A Big Bold Beautiful Journey remain under wraps at this time, though Deadline describes the movie as “an imaginative tale of two strangers and the unbelievable journey that connects them.” The movie will begin filming this spring.
Reiss, Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas, Youree Henley, and Ryan Friedkin are producing the movie, while Kogonada, Ilene Feldman, and Ori Eisen serve as executive producers.
What movies and shows has Kogonada previously made?
Kogonada made his feature film directorial debut in 2017 with Columbus, which starred John Cho, Haley Lu Richardson, and Parker Posey. His second feature, After Yang, was released in 2021 and starred Farrell alongside Jodie Turner-Smith and Justin H. Min.
Kogonada also directed four episodes of Apple TV+’s Pachinko, which premiered in March 2022. He’s additionally attached to direct episodes of The Acolyte, the upcoming Star Wars series set at the end of the High Republic that’s expected to debut on Disney+ in 2024.
Robbie recently starred in and produced the Greta Gerwig-directed Barbie, which was released in 2023 and earned her a Best Picture nomination at the 96th Academy Awards. She also produced the Emerald Fennell-directed Saltburn in 2023.
Farrell recently starred in 2022’s The Banshees of Inisherin and will soon be seen reprising his role as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot/The Penguin in Max’s The Penguin series, which serves as a spin-off to 2022’s The Batman. The Penguin is expected to premiere in late 2024.
