A Bob the Builder animated film is officially in the works with Anthony Ramos set to star in the titular role, according to Deadline.
Felipe Vargas is set to write the film, according to Deadline’s report, and will be overseen by Kevin McKeon, Ivan Sanchez, and Arturo Thur De Koós from Mattel, and Natalie Haack Flores for Nuyorican.
The report notes that the film will follow “Roberto aka Bob (Ramos), who travels to the enchanting Island of Puerto Rico for a major construction job, takes on issues affecting the island and digs deeper into what it means to build. Bob’s journey will celebrate the vibrant and colorful textures of the Caribbean Latin nations and their people.”
Bob the Builder to feature “inventive international story”
The film is being “imagined as an inventive international story for today’s audience,” and will star Ramos, who will produce the film alongside Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico, the duo behind the Academy Award-winning animation studio ShadowMachine, which was credited as a production company on Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio.
