Marvel Studios has officially announced The Marvels Disney+ release date for its latest superhero team-up movie starring Oscar winner Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/ Captain Marvel.
When is The Marvels Disney+ release date?
After over two months since its theatrical release, The Marvels will finally be available for streaming on Disney+ starting on Wednesday, February 7. During its theatrical run, the film failed to meet box office expectations, as it only garnered a worldwide gross of over $200 million. Despite this, it currently holds an Audience score rating of 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on more than 2,500 verified ratings.
“Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence,” reads the film’s synopsis. “But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as The Marvels.”
The Marvels was directed by Nia DaCosta from a screenplay by Megan McDonnell. The film starred Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. They were joined by MCU vet Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Zawe Ashton as Dar-Benn, and popular South Korean actor Park Seo-Joon, along with Tessa Thompson, Lashana Lynch, and Hailee Steinfeld.
