Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler are teaming up again, but this time for a top-secret genre movie that might well be a period vampire
Is New Coogler and Jordan Project a Period Vampire Movie?
The pair have a rich and storied history together, with Fruitvale Station, Creed, and Black Panther among the fruits of their collaborations, and this new project is based on an original idea from Coogler.
Coogler will write and direct the mystery movie with his Proximity Media company, with Jordan set to star in it.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is being described as a genre feature. That covers everything from horror, thriller, sci-fi, to fantasy. Two THR sources have said there is a period element to the story.
Jeff Sneider of The Insneider later corroborated the period nature of the film, and added that it was also a vampire movie.
Nothing is confirmed of course and such is the mystery surrounding the project that last week, executives and buyers had to go directly to the Beverly Hills offices of WME, the agency that represents Coogler and Jordan, just to get a look at the script, and get further details.
The next stage begins this week, with interested parties meeting with Coogler to listen to his vision for the movie and ultimately. aim for a production commitment.
