The first official images for the Western film Rust starring Alec Baldwin have been released, previewing the upcoming movie from writer-director Joel Souza.
The new images come courtesy of Deadline and include two stills that were done by the late cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Hutchins was tragically killed on the set of the film by a bullet inside of a prop gun that was held by Baldwin during rehearsals.
The infamous moment led to the film’s production being paused for nearly two years and Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed initially being charged with involuntary manslaughter, although Baldwin’s charges have since been dropped.
Following the resuming of production, DP Bianca Cline took over for Hutchins, with the remaining three new images being credited to her.

What is Rust about?
“A boy left to fend for himself and his younger brother following their parents’ deaths in 1880s. Kansas goes on the run with his long-estranged grandfather after he is sentenced to hang for the accidental killing of a local rancher,” reads the official synopsis for the film.
Rust stars Baldwin as Harland Rust, a veteran outlaw looking to rescue the boy, who will be played by Patrick Scott McDermott. Other stars for the film include Travis Fimmel, Frances Fisher, and Jake Busey. Jensen Ackles was originally set to play a prominent role in the film, and even filmed some scenes, but was eventually replaced by Josh Hopkins.
