The Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans-led Christmas movie, Red One, has officially been given a theatrical release date.
Deadline has reported that the holiday-centric action comedy movie from Amazon MGM Studios and Seven Bucks will be touching down in theaters on Friday, November 15, 2024. The film will have a purely theatrical window before it arrives on Prime Video, not unlike this year’s Air. The outlet notes that Red One has apparently tested twice and received scores that were “through the roof.”
In addition to Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson, the film will also star Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Kristofer Hivju, Nick Kroll, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, and Wesley Kimmel. Further details about its plot and characters are still being kept under wraps, but it is described as a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy that imagines a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre.
Who is directing Red One?
Red One is being directed and produced by Jake Kasdan, who reunites with Johnson after working together on the blockbuster Jumanji films. It is also written by Fast and Furious‘ Chris Morgan, based on a story conceived by Hiram Garcia.
The project is produced by Morgan, Melvin Mar, and Sky Salem Robinson, along with Johnson, Hiram Garcia, and Dany Garcia for Seven Bucks Productions.
