Pixar Releasing Soul, Turning Red, Luca in Theaters in 2024

Pixar is set to release three of its most recent films into theaters next year, when Soul, Turning Red, and Luca will head to the theaters.

The three films will arrive throughout the early months of the new year, with Soul coming to theaters on January 12, 2024, Turning Red arriving on February 9, 2024, and finally Luca, which will play in theaters on March 22, 2024. All three films will be accompanied by three shorts, Burrow, Kitbull, and For the Birds, respectively.

Tickets for the three films will go on sale beginning on January 2, 2024. Previously, all three films had released between 2020-2022 and were streaming-only releases, launching on Disney+.

What are the three movies about?

In Soul, Joe Gardner (voiced by Jamie Foxx) is a middle-school band teacher who dreams of playing in the best jazz club in town before a misstep causes him to arrive in The Great Before, a place where souls meet their personalities. Alongside Foxx, the film also stars Tina Fey, Graham Norton, Rachel House, Alice Braga, Richard Ayoade, Wes Studi, Fortune Feimster, and Zenobia Shroff, among others.

Turning Red was led by young actress Rosalie Chiang as she lends her voice to Mei Lee, a 13-year-old who suddenly “poofs” into a giant red panda when she gets too excited. Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) voices Mei Lee’s protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming, who is never far from her daughter — an unfortunate reality for the teenager.

Luca featured the voices of Jacob Tremblay as Luca Paguro, a bright and inventive 13-year-old sea monster with endless curiosity; Jack Dylan Grazer as Alberto Scorfano, a free-spirited teenage sea monster with unbridled enthusiasm for the human world; and Emma Berman as Giulia, an outgoing and charming adventurer who befriends Luca and Alberto. Joining them are Maya Rudolph, Marco Barricelli, and Jim Gaffigan along with Sandy Martin, Saverio Raimondo, Marina Massironi, and Giacomo Gianniotti.
