Oscar Isaac, Andrew Garfield, and Mia Goth’s roles in Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming Frankenstein movie have been revealed.

What else do we know about Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein?
After teasing that he was “working on a monster movie” in December 2022, Deadline confirmed del Toro was making a live-action adaptation of Frankenstein with Garfield, Isaac, and Goth in March 2023. Written and directed by del Toro, the movie is being released and distributed by Netflix.
“Set in Eastern Europe in the 19th Century, the story of Dr. Pretorious, who needs to track down Frankenstein’s monster- who is believed to have died in a fire forty years before–in order to continue the experiments of Dr. Frankenstein,” the current longline reads.
Christoph Waltz, who recently voiced the role of Count Volpe in 2022’s Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, has also been cast in the movie in an undisclosed role.
Del Toro told Collider in October 2023, “I’m doing Frankenstein. We’re working on it. We start shooting in February. I mean, it’s a movie I’ve been wanting to do for 50 years, since I saw the first Frankenstein. I had an epiphany, and it’s basically a movie that required a lot of growth and a lot of tools that I couldn’t have done 10 years ago, 20 years ago. Now I’m brave or crazy enough or something, and we’re going to tackle it. It’s Oscar Isaac, Andrew Garfield, Christoph Waltz, Mia Goth, and we’re working on it.”
Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein currently does not have an official release date at this time.
