Godzilla: Minus One Headlines Colossal Godzilla Day Celebrations

Toho International has revealed that Godzilla: Minus One will headline a kaiju-sized Godzilla Day celebration next month for the 69th anniversary of the monster franchise on November 3, 2023.

Leading the celebration of all things Godzilla, tickets for the highly anticipated Godzilla: Minus One, the upcoming Japanese kaiju film set to arrive in U.S. theaters on Friday, December 1, 2023, will go on sale on Friday, November 3, 2023. There will also be special Early Access Fan Event Screenings on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, in IMAX and large format theaters across the country.

Additionally, Toho International is rolling out a robust slate of offerings, from partnered product launches available on the newly launched Godzilla Store, a one-stop online shop for fans and collectors, to special screening events for all to enjoy.

Godzilla Minus One Tickets Go On Sale in the U.S. – Beginning November 3, fans can purchase tickets for the latest installment in the Godzilla film franchise. Written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki and featuring music by Naoki Sato, Godzilla Minus One sees a devastated postwar Japan facing a new threat in the form of Godzilla. As Godzilla emerges, it wreaks havoc and additional destruction on the nation, knocking the country into the negative. The first new Toho Godzilla film since 2016’s Shin Godzilla, Godzilla Minus One stars Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, and Kuranosuke Sasaki.

Godzilla Day Stream-Along on Pluto TV – On November 3rd, cozy up on the couch for a movie marathon of fan-favorite Godzilla movies that span the last 69 years on Pluto TV’s Godzilla channel. To celebrate this monstrous event there will be a stream-along at 8pm ET/5pm PT highlighting a beloved Godzilla movie with special guests providing commentary.

One-Day-Only Special Screening of Godzilla 2000 in U.S. Theaters – Fathom Events and Sony Pictures are partnering to bring Godzilla 2000 to select theaters across the U.S. on November 1. This special event will mark the first time U.S. movie-goers can see Godzilla 2000 on the big screen. Shout! TV Masters of Monsters – Shout! TV, the Shout! Studios streaming service, will celebrate Godzilla Day on November 3 with an encore presentation of MASTERS OF MONSTERS, the 2022 original production television special featuring John Carpenter as he hosts a marathon of four monster films directed by Ishiro Hondo including Gojira (1954), Rodan, Ghidorah, The Three-Headed Monster, and The War of the Gargantuas. Fans of these kaiju films can join the Godzilla Day festivities early with Shout! TV’s sister channel TokuSHOUTsu, runs Godzilla programming all week beginning October 30.

Jade City’s Godzilla Day Event – Jade City Foods’ FREE Godzilla Day celebration is returning to The Copper Rocket in Maitland, FL! This year’s event, taking place on October 26 at 7:30 pm ET, will include a night of food, games, and fun, all themed around our favorite destructive monster. Plus, Jade City is back with its beloved Godzilla Hot Sauce, bringing fans its third series from the popular collection. 

Official Godzilla Store Offerings – Fans can get their fill of Godzilla merch at the official Godzilla Store all year round, but in celebration of Godzilla Day, there will be even more unique merch and offerings to roar about! Included among the store’s must-have merch will be exclusive Godzilla Day apparel offered for a limited time preorder, exclusive SpaceGodzilla Soft Vinyl color variant and Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla Original Soundtrack LP color variant from Mondo, and a few additional surprises.

Kinokuniya USA Offers New Items – Kinokuniya, the Japan and US-based retailer known for its collection of books, magazines, gifts, and stationery, will import new products from Toho Stella alongside its store offerings of multiple Godzilla items. 

Godzilla Goes POP! – In collaboration with Funko, 4 all-new Godzilla POP! figures will be available to purchase.  

Mechagodzilla, Music, and Mondo – One of Toho International’s longest-standing partners is back with special edition figures and music soundtracks! Mondo, the company known for releasing limited edition screen printed posters for films, vinyl movie soundtracks, toys, apparel, and more, has an impressive lineup in celebration of Godzilla Day, including the Mechagodzilla by Attack Peter Figure (Silver variant), the  Godzilla 2000Millennium Original Soundtrack 2XLP, and the Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla Original Soundtrack. 

Super7 Brings Nostalgia with ReAction Figures – Nothing brings back nostalgia like holding your heroes or favorite characters in the palm of your hand! Soon, fans will have access to three all-new, wave 3 Godzilla 3.75″ scale ReAction figures from Super7 and preorders for wave 5 of Godzilla figures from the brand’s Ultimates line.

Exclusives from Surreal Entertainment – Did someone say exclusives? Surreal Entertainment is soon dropping three retailer-exclusive Godzilla items to celebrate the monster’s birthday. Items include Godzilla Trading Cards (5 Below), a Heat Changing Coffee Mug (FYE), and Carnival Cups with Sipper Straws (Books-a-Million).

Godzilla Goes Adorable with YouTooz – YouTooz, the premium collectibles and detailed figures of the internet’s greatest, is dropping two new adorable Godzilla items to celebrate November 3! New products will include the Godzilla and Mothra Plush and the Godzilla Figural Coffee Mug.
