To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Park Chan-wook’s Oldboy, Neon will release a limited edition of the remastered version of 2003’s critically-acclaimed South Korean action thriller.
The film will be available for pre-order on 4K UHD Blu-ray, starting on October 11. It will then be followed by its official launch this December.
What will be included in Oldboy’s limited edition Blu-ray package?
The deluxe two-disc Blu-ray package for Oldboy comes with a 68-page casebound book and six gift-wrapped collector cards, along with three new essays by writers Stephanie Zacharek, David Sims, and Phoebe Chen. In addition to the film, which was restored and remastered in 4K HDR supervised by Park, it will also include special features such as exclusive deleted scenes, behind the scenes featurettes, archival cast and crew interviews, teasers, trailers, and music videos.

Oldboy is directed by Park Chan-wook from a screenplay he co-wrote with Hwang Jo-yun and Lim Joon-hyung. It serves as the second installment to Park’s The Vengeance Trilogy, following Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) and preceded by Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (2005). It was produced by Kim Dong-joo and Lim Seung-yong and executive produced by Kim Jang-wook.
The Cannes Grand Prix-winning film starred acclaimed South Korean actor Choi Min-sik, who portrays the role of Oh Dae-su. After being kidnapped and imprisoned for fifteen years, Dae-su is finally released, only to find that he must seek out his captor in five days. Choi was joined by Yoo Ji-tae, Kang Hye-jung, Kim Byeong-ok, Oh Dal-su, and Yoon Jin-seo.
