Spawn creator Todd McFarlane has spoken about the upcoming Jamie Foxx-led adaptation and once again expressed his confidence in the actor.
What did Todd McFarlane say about Jamie Foxx playing Spawn?
In an interview with ComingSoon, McFarlane spoke about Jamie Foxx and the health scare the actor recently had. The Spawn creator reiterated that he has total confidence in Foxx and is behind the star as long as he wants to star in the film.
“Until Jamie says he can’t, he’s still my guy,” McFarlane confirmed. “I’m very loyal to people, and Jamie was my guy and has been my guy. He’s had a bit of a setback and he says he’s going to get back to the top of the mountain. I have no doubt. I know Jamie — he is a very strong-willed, determined human being. So he tells me, ‘Don’t worry about me, Todd. I’ll be there when the bell rings. I’ll be there.’ So I have complete and utter confidence.”
The Spawn movie has been in development since 2015. Alongside Foxx as the titular character, Jeremy Renner has also been attached to play Twitch since 2018. It’s currently unclear as to whether or not Renner is still part of the project.
