Five Nights at Freddy’s Runtime Revealed for Blumhouse Horror Movie

Five Nights at Freddy’s has been given an official runtime.

Contrary to online rumors claiming Five Nights at Freddy’s would be approximately three hours long, AMC Theatres’ website gives the upcoming Blumhouse horror film an official one-hour and 50-minute runtime.

What is Five Nights at Freddy’s About?

“The film follows Mike (Josh Hutcherson; Ultraman, The Hunger Games franchise) a troubled young man caring for his 10-year-old sister Abby (Piper Rubio; Holly & Ivy, Unstable), and haunted by the unsolved disappearance of his younger brother more than a decade before,” the official synopsis reads. “Recently fired and desperate for work so that he can keep custody of Abby, Mike agrees to take a position as a night security guard at an abandoned theme restaurant: Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. But Mike soon discovers that nothing at Freddy’s is what it seems. With the aid of Vanessa, a local police officer (Elizabeth Lail; You, Mack & Rita), Mike’s nights at Freddy’s will lead him into unexplainable encounters with the supernatural and drag him into the black heart of an unspeakable nightmare.”

Based on the popular video game series created by Scott Cawthon, Five Nights at Freddy’s is directed by Emma Tammi (The Wind), who co-wrote the screenplay alongside Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback. Cawthon also produced the film with Jason Blum, while Be a Sequeira, Russell Binder, Marc Mostman, and Christopher H. Warner serve as executive producers.

In addition to Hutcherson, Rubio, and Lail, Five Nights at Freddy’s stars Mary Stuart Masterson (Blindspotting, Fried Green Tomatoes), Kat Conner Sterling (We Have a Ghost, A Week Away), and Matthew Lillard (Scream, Thirteen Ghosts). The animatronic characters featured in the movie come from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

Arriving just in time for Halloween, Five Nights at Freddy’s simultaneously hits United States theaters and Peacock on October 27, 2023.
