The upcoming Borderlands movie has a tentative release year.
This science fiction action comedy movie is directed by Eli Roth (Death Wish, The House With a Clock In its Walls) and is based on the Gearbox video game series. This film has been in postproduction for two years, with co-writer Craig Mazin (Chernobyl, The Last of Us) recently taking his name off the film, going under the pseudonym Joe Crombie.
Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis shared a few details on the film while promoting her next movie Haunted Mansion. “That was filmed during COVID in Budapest, and I believe it is being released next year,” Curtis told EW. “It’s a little over-the-top, it’s pretty wacky, it’s fun.”
Curtis shared a few details about her character Tannis. “She has autism. She’s a strange woman who has objectum sexuality, where she falls in love with inanimate objects,” said Curtis. “[She is] the character that knew Cate Blanchett’s character’s mother, which is why I’m in the movie. I am the connection back to Cate’s early past.”
