The Fantasia International Film Festival lineup has been revealed.
Fantasia’s 27th Edition will have a large and varied program of screenings, workshops, and launch events running from July 20 through August 9, 2023, taking place at the Concordia Hall Cinema, with additional screens at the J.A. DeSève Cinema, Cinémathèque québécoise, and Cinéma du Musée in Montreal, Quebec.
Nicolas Cage will be honored with the Cheval Noir Career Achievement Award for his long, versatile career spanning decades. The official closing film will be We Are Zombies, set in a society where zombies, referred to as “living-impaired,” roam among us with no urge to eat flesh.
Other highlights include Hippo, the feature directorial debut of writer/director Mark H. Rapaport, Lim Sun-ae’s poignant drama Ms. Apocalypse, Mary Dauterman’s feature debut, dark comedy Booker, Eight Eyes, the inaugural production from beloved restoration label Vinegar Syndrome, and The Moon, The Sky, and You, the debut feature from Hei Yau Lin.
