Director James Gunn has provided an update on the casting of Superman: Legacy.
Gunn will be writing and directing Superman: Legacy, a new superhero movie that will kick off the DC Universe movies. It “tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas,” reads the official synopsis. “He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
In an episode of the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast, Gunn talked about the status on casting. “Now that we’ve kind of done a lot of auditions, we’re narrowing it down,” Gunn said. “We’re not done yet. By the way, there [are] a lot of stories out there about who we’re auditioning and all these screen tests. I’m just saying it’s not all true, that’s for sure. There [are] things in there that are completely false, but I can’t go out there and say, ‘Oh this isn’t true, and this isn’t true’ without going through everything.”
What is the Superman: Legacy release date?
The film is set to release on July 11, 2025, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
