Terrifier 3 Release Date Window Set, First Details on Budget

More details about the upcoming Terrifier 3 release date have been revealed in a new report from Deadline. Several members of the original films are set to return.

What do we know about Terrifier 3?

Writer-director Damien Leone — who already hinted a third film was in the cards — and producer Phil Falcone are set to return to oversee the third film, according to Deadline. David Howard Thornton (Art The Clown), as well as Lauren LaVera (who played Sienna in Terrifier 2) are also expected back.

The new report comes as France-based distribution company The Coven launches worldwide sales of the film. Deadline notes that filming will take place in either November or December of this year, with a tentative release window of 2024.

Perhaps most importantly, however, is the note that the budget for Terrifier 3 is getting a significant increase; the report suggests “in the low-mid seven figure range.” This would be a huge step up for the franchise, which has operated on significantly less; Terrifier was made with $35,000, while Terrifier 2 stepped up to a still-modest $250,000.

Terrifier 2 was written, directed, and edited by Damien Leone. It stars Lauren LaVera, Elliott Fullam, Sarah Voigt, David Howard Thornton, Casey Hartnett, Amelie McLain, Chris Jericho, and more.

“After being resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to Miles County where he targets a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night,” reads the synopsis.

The sequel is produced by Leone, Michael Leavy, Jason Leavy, Phil Falcone, Lisa Marie Falcone, and Steve Della Salla. Before theaters, it held its world premiere at Fantastic Fest and Fright Fest. In addition to praise from critics, the film had also earned a worldwide gross of over $12 million at the box office against a reported budget of $250,000.
