Liev Schreiber Reveals Why He Didn’t Return for Logan

After playing the role of Victor Creed/Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Liev Schreiber has revealed why he didn’t return to the part for the 2017 movie Logan.

Why didn’t Liev Schreiber return for Logan?

While looking back at his roles in a GQ video, Schreiber was asked why he didn’t return as Sabretooth in the final Wolverine solo film, Logan. The actor revealed that he wasn’t asked to come back and that the character wasn’t part of that story.

“They didn’t ask me,” Schreiber confirmed. “No, I mean, I don’t think he was part of that story, you know? He wasn’t part of that story. I would have loved to bring Victor back, anytime anywhere, but he wasn’t part of that narrative. I wonder if I’m getting a little long in the tooth, so to speak, but probably not for Sabretooth.”

X-Men Origins: Wolverine was released in 2009 to mostly negative reviews. The movie showed the origins of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine from Fox’s popular X-Men movies of the early 2000s. The Marvel film established Wolverine’s antagonistic relationship with Victor Creed/Sabretooth, portraying them as half-brothers. Though X-Men Origins: Wolverine was poorly received, it did make for a very fun video game.
